Barclays updated their app today. They locked out anyone with an older iPhone.
Now, I know a refugee on less than £700 each month. They have looked after their older iPhone and it works perfectly.
Today, they had to go to their local Barclays, manually withdraw all their money, and pay it into their Monzo account.
Imagine if they were disabled and found getting to the bank difficult, or if they struggled to learn to use a new app?
Interestingly, Monzo uses newer and higher-tech software than Barclays.
But Monzo is commited to financial inclusion. Barclays are not famed for this.
